Three Renewable Energy Projects
from:Renewable energy is a means to create energy using natural resources such as the wind, water and sunlight. With the concern for conserving natural resources being such a hot topic today some companies and organizations are creating renewable energy projects that will help to preserve these precious resources. Below are three renewable energy projects that are in the making. These can make a big difference in the amount of natural resources that are used on a regular basis.
One of the biggest renewable energy projects in the works today is the “Great Lakes Offshore Wind Energy Project”. It will be the very first offshore wind project located in North America. The plans are to build approximately 142 multi-megawatt wind turbines. With a capacity of 710 MW creating enough energy to power over 200,000 homes this renewable energy project might be the largest one of its kind on the continent.
Another renewable energy project is the “Watts On Schools” solar power project. This is a project of American Electric Power whose goal is to bring solar power energy to local schools that are located in Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas. The schools that have already had solar energy systems installed receive the energy that these systems provide for free. They also receive materials that help to educate solar energy and conduct energy events annually.
The third renewable energy project now in the making is the “Texas Wind Power Project”. This is the first wind power plant located in Texas and it was put together by the General Land Office, The Lower Colorado River and a private industry. The wind turbines designed for this project are able to generate up to 35 megawatts of power which can run up to 15,000 homes.
These are but a few of the renewable energy projects that are in progress or in the making around the world. There are many others available and as the need to conserve natural resources continues to grow, more and more renewable energy projects are sure to be put into effect. The need for new ways to produce energy is imperative and continues to increase.
Renewable energy resources are helping to conserve the natural resources in the world and help build a brighter future for the generations to come. Wind, water and solar power are the alternative power source of the future. The generations of tomorrow depend on the renewable energy projects of today to make sure the natural resources are not completely depleted. Renewable energy projects are just the start of what the future holds. The question is what else can be done?
